No attorney-client relationship
The content of this site, including the Stop-Work Order Guide, the calculators and the worksheet, is general information about Florida law and the Division of Workers' Compensation's process. It is not legal advice and is not a substitute for advice about your own facts. Reading the site, sending an inquiry, creating an account, uploading documents or buying the guide does not create an attorney-client relationship with Sword & Shield, PLLC. That relationship is formed only by a signed engagement agreement.
The guide and worksheet
The guide is licensed to the purchasing account for personal, non-commercial use. You may download the worksheet for your own business and share it with your own accountant or attorney. You may not resell, republish or distribute the guide or worksheet. The calculations are estimates based on the inputs you enter and the statute as of the date of publication; the Department's calculation in your case may differ. If the guide does not help you understand your case, email help@swordandshield.com within 7 days of purchase for a refund.
The client dashboard
The dashboard is provided for clients and prospective clients to organize their matter and share documents with the firm. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping your password secure. Deadlines shown in the dashboard are calculated from the dates you enter and are provided as a convenience; you remain responsible for every deadline in your case, and only your attorney can confirm them.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Fees for legal services are governed by your engagement agreement. Flat-fee services bought online are confirmed by the firm before work begins; if the firm cannot accept the engagement (for example, because of a conflict), the payment is refunded in full.
Accuracy and changes
We work to keep the site accurate and current, and we cite the statute and rule for each statement where possible. Florida law changes; the site may not reflect the most recent amendment. We may change the site and these terms at any time.
Limitation
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the firm is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its content outside of a signed engagement.
Governing law
Florida law governs these terms. Venue for any dispute is Leon County, Florida.
